What you get
Arbitron can be added to an AI assistant as a connector (the technical name is an MCP server). After that you ask Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant a question in your own words, and it takes the answer from Arbitron instead of guessing.
Market data
Funding rates on every venue, one coin's funding across exchanges, funding history, live spreads, spread backtests, the listings calendar and your API usage.
Your account
Your trading cards, trades and PnL by day or month, balances and positions, balance history, connected exchange accounts, your place on the leaderboard, and your plan and payments.
Knowledge base
It searches this knowledge base and reads any article in English, Russian, Ukrainian or French, so it can explain how a setting works.
Every Arbitron tool only reads. The assistant can't place orders, start or stop a card, or change a setting, and it never sees your exchange API keys.
Connecting takes about a minute. You paste one address into the assistant, sign in to Arbitron and click "Allow" on the approval page. You don't copy any password or key.
How the connection works
You ask in plain words. The assistant asks Arbitron and shows you the answer.

Before you start
You need two things: an Arbitron account and an assistant that can add a custom connector. Every Arbitron plan works, including an account with no plan at all.
Each time the assistant asks Arbitron for something, that is one API request on your plan, and one answer can take several. Without a plan you get 3,000 requests a month and 20 a minute, market data is 15 minutes delayed, funding history goes back 7 days and the spread backtest hides its top rows. Scanner gives 30,000 a month (60 a minute), Trader 100,000 (120) and Prime 500,000 (300). Details on Pricing.
Not every assistant can add a connector, and some need a paid plan. The table shows where each one stands.
Which assistants work
Checked in September 2026. After you sign in, each of them can also read your own account, as long as the approval page lists it. Plans and menus change, so check your assistant if something looks different.

These apps can't add a custom connector on a personal account yet. Their business versions are set up by a company admin and aren't covered here.
Claude: web, desktop app and phone
These steps are for Claude Free, Pro and Max. A Free account can have one custom connector.
- 1
Open Connectors
In Claude on the web or in the desktop app, go to "Customize", then "Connectors". Direct link: claude.ai/customize/connectors.
- 2
Add a custom connector
Click "+", then "Add custom connector".
- 3
Enter the name and address
Name: Arbitron. URL: https://arbitron.app/mcp. Leave "Advanced settings" empty and click "Add".
- 4
Connect and sign in
Click "Connect". Claude opens Arbitron in a new window: sign in and click "Allow".
- 5
Switch it on in a chat
In a chat, click "+" at the bottom left (or type "/"), open "Connectors" and turn Arbitron on. If Arbitron isn't used in a new chat, check this toggle there.
Claude is rolling out a new version of this dialog. If you see it, keep the defaults: "Sign in now" and "Use Claude's published identity (recommended)".
Claude asks before it uses a tool. Every Arbitron tool only reads, so "Always allow" is safe. To set it once for all chats, open "Customize" → "Connectors" → Arbitron and pick "Always allow", "Needs approval" or "Blocked" for each tool.
Only an Owner or Primary Owner can add the connector. They open "Organization settings" → "Connectors" → "Add" → "Custom" → "Web", paste the address and click "Add". Then each member opens "Customize" → "Connectors", finds the entry labeled "Custom" and clicks "Connect".
Add Arbitron on the web or in the desktop app first. The desktop app shares the same connectors, and they show up in the phone app after you sign out and back in. Adding a connector on the phone itself is still in beta.
ChatGPT
Custom connectors need ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu. The Free plan can't add them. Set it up on chatgpt.com in a browser; after that it should also appear in the ChatGPT apps. These steps are for Plus and Pro.
- 1
Turn on Developer mode
Open "Settings" → "Security and login" → "Developer mode". If you don't see it there, look in "Settings" → "Apps" (or "Apps & Connectors") → "Advanced settings". OpenAI moved it in mid-2026.
- 2
Create a new app
Open "Plugins" at chatgpt.com/plugins and click "+". In older versions it is "Settings" → "Apps" → "Create".
- 3
Enter the name and address
Name: Arbitron. URL: https://arbitron.app/mcp.
- 4
Choose OAuth
Set "Authentication" to OAuth. Leave the client ID and client secret empty. If ChatGPT asks how to register the client, keep the automatic option.
- 5
Create and sign in
Click "Create", sign in to Arbitron and click "Allow". The list of Arbitron tools appears.
- 6
Use it in a chat
In the message box, click "+" → "Developer mode" and select Arbitron. In older versions: "+" → "More" → Arbitron. Starting your message with "Using Arbitron, …" helps ChatGPT pick the right tool.
OpenAI shows this warning for Developer mode and for every custom app, whoever made it. It doesn't point to a problem with Arbitron. Arbitron's tools only read data.
On Business, only admins and owners can use Developer mode. An admin creates the app, then publishes it for the workspace in "Workspace settings" → "Apps" → "Drafts" → "Publish". On Enterprise and Edu, an admin first turns on Developer mode in "Workspace Settings" → "Permissions & Roles" → "Connected Data" and can give it to members.
Perplexity, Mistral Le Chat and Grok
Perplexity works on paid plans. On Enterprise, an admin has to allow custom connectors first.
- 1
Open "Account settings" → "Connectors", click "+ Custom connector" and choose "Remote".
- 2
Enter the name Arbitron and the URL https://arbitron.app/mcp. Set "Authentication" to OAuth and the transport to Streamable HTTP.
- 3
Tick the acknowledgement box and click "Add".
- 4
Click Arbitron in the connector list, sign in to Arbitron and click "Allow".
- 5
In a chat, turn Arbitron on under "Sources".
Mistral Le Chat works on every plan, including Free. The feature is in beta, and Mistral renames parts of the app from time to time: if a menu looks different, look for the "Connectors" section. On Team and Enterprise, a workspace admin adds it.
- 1
On chat.mistral.ai, open "Connectors" and click "+ Add Connector".
- 2
Open the "Custom MCP Connector" tab. Enter a name without spaces, such as Arbitron, and the Server URL https://arbitron.app/mcp.
- 3
Click "Connect", sign in to Arbitron and click "Allow".
Grok is set up on grok.com. It may need a paid plan. On Grok Business and Enterprise, an admin adds the connector first.
- 1
Open grok.com/connectors and click "New Connector".
- 2
Choose "Custom" and paste https://arbitron.app/mcp.
- 3
Sign in to Arbitron and click "Allow".
Then Grok can't connect to Arbitron yet. Use Claude or ChatGPT for now.
For developers: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and more
Coding tools use the same address. The first time, each one opens your browser so you can sign in to Arbitron and click "Allow". Copy the snippet for your tool below.
Gemini CLI works only for Gemini Code Assist and paid Gemini API users. Since June 18, 2026 it no longer serves free accounts or individual Google AI Pro and Ultra plans.
A tool that can't sign in with OAuth can use an API key from AI assistants & API, sent as the header Authorization: Bearer arb_live_…. When you create the key, keep "MCP server (assistants using this key)" ticked. Through MCP, a key gives market data and the knowledge base only; reading your account there needs the sign-in. Never paste a key into a shared config file, a repository or an install link.
Setup snippets
Copy, paste, then sign in to Arbitron when the browser opens.
Claude Code
Run it in the terminal. Then type /mcp in a Claude Code session, pick arbitron and sign in. "claude mcp list" should show "✔ Connected". If Claude Code uses your claude.ai login, connectors you added on claude.ai appear here too.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user arbitron https://arbitron.app/mcp
Codex
Then run "codex mcp login arbitron" to sign in in your browser. The Codex CLI and the IDE extension share this setting. Check it with "codex mcp list".
codex mcp add arbitron --url https://arbitron.app/mcp
Cursor
Use the button, or add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Then open "Settings" → "Tools & MCP" and click the server to sign in.

What to ask
Ask the way you would ask a colleague. The assistant picks the Arbitron tools itself and often combines several in one answer. Each answer carries the time the data was taken and a link to the matching Arbitron page, and most assistants show them.
If the assistant answers from memory, start with "Using Arbitron, …". Trade history comes in pieces of up to 31 days and balance history up to 180 days, so ask for one month of trades at a time.
Questions to try
Type them as they are, or change the coin, exchange and dates.
Market
- What's the funding on BTC across exchanges right now?
- Which coins have the widest spreads between two exchanges at the moment?
- Show ETH funding history on Binance for the last week.
- What's listing on futures in the next few days?
Your account
- Which of my cards made the most today and which lost on fees?
- Show my balances and how close I am to liquidation.
- Compare my PnL this month with last month.
- Where am I on the leaderboard?
Learning
- How does the close spread work?
- Explain Auto mode like I'm new to arbitrage.
- Which permissions should my exchange API key have?
Privacy and control
What the assistant can see
- Funding, spreads, listings and your plan usage
- Your own cards, trades, PnL, balances and positions
- The names of your connected exchange accounts
- Your plan, payments and leaderboard place
What it never sees or does
- Your exchange API keys
- Who other traders are: on the leaderboard they appear as "trader #N"
- Anything about Arbitron's servers
- Placing orders, starting cards or changing settings
Every lookup counts against your plan's API quota, and one answer can use several. Assistant requests are counted on the "Assistants (OAuth)" row of the AI assistants & API page.
Disconnect one assistant
Remove or disconnect Arbitron in that assistant's connector settings. Other assistants stay connected.
Disconnect every assistant
Open AI assistants & API in the menu. In the "Assistant sign-in" section, find "Assistants (OAuth)" and click "Revoke". Every connected assistant loses access at once. The section appears after your first assistant connects. To use an assistant again after revoking, connect it again.
Those connections only see market data. Disconnect Arbitron in the assistant and connect again. The approval page should now list reading your own account. If it doesn't, that assistant only asks for market data.
Troubleshooting
The assistant shows no Arbitron tools
Check that Arbitron is switched on in this chat. In ChatGPT, open the app's settings and click "Refresh".
"Couldn't reach" or "connection failed"
Check that the address is exactly https://arbitron.app/mcp. Claude's error message includes a reference that starts with ofid_: send it to Arbitron support.
Sign-in keeps starting over
Clear cookies for arbitron.app or try another browser, then disconnect Arbitron in the assistant and connect again.
A Claude Team member can't find "Add custom connector"
On Team and Enterprise only an Owner can add connectors. Ask them to add Arbitron, then click "Connect" on the entry labeled "Custom".
ChatGPT has no Developer mode
Look in both places: "Settings" → "Security and login", and "Settings" → "Apps" → "Advanced settings". Check that you're on Plus or higher. On a work plan, ask your admin.
ChatGPT says "Something went wrong" after sign-in
Delete the Arbitron app in ChatGPT and create it again.
It says it can't see my account
You may have connected before September 24, 2026, or with an API key. Disconnect, connect again with sign-in, and check that the approval page lists reading your own account. If it doesn't, that assistant only asks for market data.
Rate limited
You've used your plan's requests for the minute or the month (the monthly count resets on the 1st, UTC). Questions about cards, trades, PnL and history also have their own limit of 20 a minute on every plan. Wait a minute, check usage on AI assistants & API, or see Pricing for higher limits.
